Ethical and environmental responsibility is at the heart of what we do at Footprint Building. We are committed to the following principles:
We reduce our environmental impact
This means that we:
- Use green energy suppliers in our office, showroom and joinery workshop
- Recycle and reuse office, showroom and joinery waste
- Recycle and reuse building site waste
- Monitor and reduce energy use at our office, showroom and joinery
- Measure and mitigate the carbon impact of our projects
- Reduce our dependency on fossil fuels by using electric vans and recycled vegetable oil instead of diesel
- Reduce our use of toxic products
- Reduce our use of non-sustainable products
- Carefully vet all our suppliers to ensure they are ecologically sound
We operate in an ethical manner
This means that we:
- Respect company neighbours and our customers’ neighbours
- Treat our staff fairly and ethically and ensure our staff treat others in the same way
- Maintain transparent business practices
- Commit to ethical marketing practices
Practise and communicate new developments in building, eco-building and health and safety
This means that we:
- Attend courses to ensure we keep up-to-date with the latest innovations
- Conduct staff briefings monthly and when necessary to communicate new information
- Are engaged with the ecological movement, building contacts and relationships with likeminded individuals and companies
- Maintain membership of relevant professional organisations
