At Footprint Building our aim is to live up to the highest possible standards in our dealings with all our customers. We’ve created this Customer Charter to explain our commitment to you:

Work in an environmentally conscious and ethically sound way

Ecological conscientiousness is central to our business. It influences everything we do – from the products we offer to the production methods we choose and the vehicles we drive. As a business we take significant measures to ensure we reduce our impact on the environment. We aim to treat our customers and our staff in an ethical manner and to employ transparent and fair business practices. (For more information see our Environmental and Ethical Commitment).

Offer our customers support to make sound green choices

We recognise that being ecologically responsible can mean different things to different people. We endeavour to help our customers make choices that are right for them and best for the environment. We offer a wide selection of eco-build products and services and vet all our suppliers to ensure they are ecologically sound. We give our customers advice and guidance to aid them in their decision making.

Deliver high quality products and services

We aim to deliver the highest quality craftsmanship and finish in all our trades and strive to meet our customers’ high expectations in every project, regardless of size. We plan and manage our projects with the aim of delivering on time and on budget. For more information on how we manage our projects see the How We Work section.

Respect our customers’ property and their neighbours

We make every effort to prepare our customers for the building process, which we know can have an impact on day-to-day living. We will limit disruption to customer lifestyle and the lives of their neighbours as much as possible. Where appropriate we issue courtesy notifications of work schedules to neighbours who may be affected. We strive to be courteous, helpful, careful and tidy at all times.

Be approachable and maintain clear, prompt communication

We aim to be friendly, attentive and diligent as well as expert in what we do. We believe in open and straightforward communication and ongoing dialogue which pays constant attention to our customers’ needs. We provide our customers with points of contact for both our office and site. We have clear communication processes and effective procedures for managing change. We hold weekly project updates for all projects and, for complex projects, we schedule regular progress meetings with our customers.

Listen closely to our customers’ preferences and requirements

We commit to listen to our customers and aim to answer questions and resolve concerns as they arise.

Advise and assist with building regulations

We ensure that our building works are fully compliant with building regulations and, where possible we work to surpass the standards set by building control, especially with regard to energy efficiency. We will support customers through the building regulations application process.

Continuous Improvement

We review our progress against these standards every year to make sure we are delivering on our promises. We strive to continually improve the way we work with our customers.
