High Efficiency Boilers

What are they?
High efficiency boilers are also known as condensing boilers. They recycle the hot gases back in to the boiler, making the system more energy efficient.
What’s the benefit?
The most efficient condensing boilers convert more than 90% of their fuel into heat, compared to 78% in conventional types.
Boilers account for approximately 60% of all carbon dioxide emissions produced by our homes. By fitting a new high efficiency boiler / condensing boiler with heating controls you can save around £200 on your fuel bill and significantly cut your CO₂ emissions.
Before buying a high efficiency boiler it is really important to make sure that your house is well insulated. Please see our sections on insulation and double glazing. We always recommend insulation as the first step to making your house more energy efficient.
