Double & Triple Glazing
What is this?
A large amount of your home’s heat is lost straight through your windows. Double and triple glazing helps to insulate your home and prevent heat loss.
What’s the benefit?
Having your house well insulated will save you money by reducing your heating bills. It will also reduce the amount of carbon used. By changing your windows you will increase the insulation of your home dramatically.
How can Footprint Building help?
Contact us for a free eco-consultation on your windows to find out what can be done for your property and how much energy you could save. Our sustainable joinery workshop makes modern and traditional casement and sash windows that exceed the required standards of thermal efficiency
Answers to frequently asked questions:
1. Are they suitable for my home?
Double glazing is suitable for almost every home. You can either have new bespoke sustainable wood windows designed and built for your home workshop or you can have double or triple glazing built into your existing windows (dependent on your existing window frames).
2. Do I need planning permission?
Yes. You do need to ask if your local planning department whether you need to make an application before you change your windows as it may change the appearance of your house.
You should include your full address, plans or drawings for the changes and good quality photographs of your existing windows.
