Bespoke Joinery
About Footprint Joinery
Footprint Building's sustainable joinery workshop makes handcrafted wood products for discerning, ethically-minded customers.
The pioneering woodworking shop is in Ashton, Bristol. It's run by Jan Francis, a master joiner with 18 year's experience, a sharp eye for design and meticulous attention to detail. Jan and his team work with you to design, create and install unique wood products that compliment your home and meet your practical needs.
Skilled in innovative and traditional design, we use sustainable timber that is locally sourced or recycled wherever possible. We'll help you to create a home that not only looks stunning but also helps you live responsibly.

Our green promise
All our products - hardwoods and softwoods - are from sustainable sources and we use reclaimed wood where we can. At our woodworking shop we use non-toxic products such as varnishes and glues and we use green electricity suppliers. We dispose of all our waste responsibly, recycling all that we can. 'Tree to table' service
We are currently using a lumber yard in Calne where the estate manager knows all of his trees individually. We call him with specifications for a job and he will advise on which tree will suit our purposes. He'll even take you to the forest to pick out the tree of your choice from which we'll make your furniture before he fells it. Then he'll replant the tree.
